SUMMER TEAMS PROGRAM CONTINUES TO EVOLVE INTO COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE
2008 marks the fifth year of FC Victoria's Summer Teams Program. Soccer playing youth and their families from communities throughout Vancouver Island find value in the player development programs presented.
FC Victoria's Summer Teams Program (STP), is an athlete-centred program with emphasis of technical, tactical, physical and social development of the individual player promoted in a supportive and challenging team environment.
THE SUMMER TEAMS PROGRAM
Training & Games
The program runs May through July with twice weekly training sessions.
Games are scheduled with BC based soccer academies.
International Guest Staff
Last summer, Sean McAuley, Academy Head Coach from Sheffield Wednesday Soccer Club (England) and Gordon Wallace, Scottish Premier League legend and coach headlined our international coaches roster. Check our website often for announcements of this years international guest coaches.
Special Events
In 2007, a program ending barbecue was held at Windsor Park.
'Kicking In' Community Sponsorship Program
A sponsorship program designed for families to recoup costs for the STP. A poster, 24" x 18" is printed in colour with a large team photo with sponsor logo's and names sold in $250 and $100 denominations respectively for recognition.
Integration of Sports Sciences Programing
Sport specific 'Long Term Athlete Development Program' is a new addition to the 2006 line up providing a value add to the program. The LTAD is a training, competition and recovery program based on developmental age and the maturation level of an individual rather than the chronological age.
Full Medical Support Team
Traci Burchill heads the medical support team providing on-site medical presence at all training and game situations.
Training, Travel and Game Kit
It's how you look! The program includes training, travel and game apparel branded with the FC Victoria identity in club Black, Red & White colours.
Transportation & Accommodation
All walk on ferry costs, bus travel from the mainland side to games/tournaments/events and accommodation is included in the STP.
Highly Experienced and Qualified Technical Staff
FC Victoria continues to present qualified coaches with International, National, Provincial and Collegiate coaching/playing experience. Check out our media released on the home page to see the who's who committed to the FC Victoria STP.

Children's Fitness Tax Credit
Take advantage of the Canadian Federal Government's Children's Fitness Tax Credit which went into effect January 1st of 2007. The tax credit is available on up to $500 per child in registration and membership fees. Click here to learn more.
